Curtis Bridenstine, MFA -- English Teacher

Hi,

I hope you are having a wonderful day.

I have been a teacher for over 20 years.  I have taught all levels of English Language Arts from basic English Language Development (ELD) to AP Language and Composition. I have been trained extensively in English Language Development courses, Advanced Placement courses, and Expository, Reading, Writing, and Composition (ERWC) courses.  Over the years, my ELD students have reclassified from the ELD program to the English Only program at a rate of up to 75 percent. Also, my AP students have passed the AP Examination at a rate of up to 80 percent.

In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have been a Testing Coordinator, Assistant Athletic Director, Varsity Football Assistant Coach, and a Beyond the Bell Tutor and Teacher.

Furthermore, I am a film writing and producing consultant for several producers and production companies.  I have analyzed and rewritten several screenplays for several entities. I have produced two Web Series and several short films.  Currently, I am developing three full length scripts for production.

I received a California Teaching Credential from National University, a Masters of Fine Arts in Film, Screenwriting from American Film Institute, a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre and Film from Brigham Young University, and I served a two year mission for the LDS Church in Washington, DC.

I love to write, listen to music, watch films, and play sports.  I have recently resurrected my dormant percussion skills by playing the drums loudly and annoying my neighbors.  My favorite novels are One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Catcher in the Rye, She's Come Undone, The Great Gatsby, and To Kill a Mockingbird.  My favorite Plays are Hamlet, Death of a Salesman, A Streetcar Named Desire, and You Can't Take It With You.  My favorite Films are The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Dr. Strangelove: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, and Being There.

I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, the sixth of eight children.  When I was two our family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and I was raised there.  I enjoyed playing sports and playing the drums growing up.  I love to take road trips in my BMW Mw3 and visit National Parks and other nature sites.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

Peace be unto you, and unto you peace.

Best Wishes,

Curtis Bridenstine
