Biography

Jessica Rosen Bishop grew up in the San Fernando Valley and began dancing at the age of 3. At age 15, she began teaching children's dance classes. At San Diego State University, Mrs Bishop earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance and English.   While at SDSU, Mrs. Bishop was a member of the University Dance Company, taught a master class in Advanced Ballet at Pierce College, and co-produced and performed in "Retroperspectives" a dance concert. She was also an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified aerobics and kickboxing instructor.   Upon graduating from San Diego State, Mrs Bishop was hired by the LAUSD to teach English and Dance courses and to coach cheerleading, drill team, flags, and dance team.  Mrs Bishop has attained safety certification from the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA) and has received her Coaching Principals Certificate from American Sports Education Program (ASEP). She is bronze level certified in the National Federation of High School (NFHS) Spirit Coaches Education Program, and has attended coaching seminars in Memphis, Indianapolis, and California.   Mrs. Bishop has attained her California State Professional Clear Single Subject Credential in English and Dance, and earned her Masters Degree in Secondary Education, both from California State University, Northridge. Mrs Bishop was the Lead Teacher for the Arts & Media Academy and sponsor for the Arts & Media Club and is currently the English Language Arts Department Chair.
