The major emphasis of the course is to provide the student with greater opportunities to fine-tune the communication skills acquired during previous years. The course focuses on reading, writing, and speaking Spanish. Texts from throughout the Spanish culture are discussed.

SPANISH 3A ORAL FINAL EXAM STUDY GUIDE
These are examples of the type of questions you may be asked. The Oral Final Exam will take place 4 days prior to Written Finals. The exam must be taken during class time and not during lunch. No retakes will be given. Study!!

Cultural Art Project
Standard: 1& 4
Possible points: 45pts Due Date: Wednesday Oct. 23
Objectives: You are to create either a figurine, or a work of art using the Día de Los Muertos as a theme for your inspiration. You are then to write a short description in Spanish describing your work of art. Afterwards, you will be required to present your work of art. Be prepared to answer questions in Spanish that related to your masterpiece J
Materials: paperclay, diluted glue & water, newspaper, markers, tissue paper, scraps of material.
Sequence:
Step 1: Draw a rough draft of your sculpture/work of art.
Step 2: Describe your sculpture and what inspired you to create your project.
Step 3: Prepare your sculpture and turn in a draft of your text describing your
sculpture.
Step 4: Present sculpture/work of art. Description must be memorized.

Rubric:
A - Project is neat, well thought out, unique,creative, and colorful. All requirements met, very few grammar and spelling errors. Student spoke clearly and was able to answer the questions in the target language.
B - Project was well thought out, neat, and semi creative. All requirements met, few grammar and spelling errors. Student spoke clearly and was able to answer the questions in the target language.
C - Project was not well planned, slightly messy, not creative or colorful. All requirements met, some grammar and spelling errors. Student spoke clearly but was unable to answer all of the questions in the target language.
D- Project does not meet requirements and looks unfinished. Too many grammar and spelling errors. Student spoke clearly but was unable to answer questions in the target language.
F - no effort
