Spanish 3:  Periods 2,4,6

• Warm-up:  Write 5 sentences using new vocabulary.
• Page 116 Activ 3 & Translate flyer on 116
• Page 117 Activ 4-  Write the item that doesn’t belong and replace one with correct vocab.
• Page 118 Activ 6 & 7
• Students should practice with partner page 108 Activ 2 ...They will be presenting on Wednesday.   [Make a list of items you like to eat and don’t like to eat.  Then explain to your partner why you like and don’t like each item and why you eat or don’t eat that food item.  Make sure you are able to carry a mini conversation with you partner using me gusta o no  me gusta and que te gusta comer etc.  Have at least 2 items you each talk about.]
• Homework:  Prepare for presentation and be ready to turn in all work.

Spanish 1 Period 8

• Warm-up:  Write 4 sentences about the classes you don’t have today and a sentence about the class you do have today.
• Practice saying your schedule out loud and be prepared to test on Wednesday.
• Work on wordsearch located on my desk and work on workbook pages 31-35

• Chapter 2 test Study pg 104,105 ,106,107 and clases notes. (50pts)

• Finishes class work: pg 110 copy new  vocab in Spanish and English & do review activities on pg 107

• Progress reports require parent signature and are part of your notebook grade!  Notebooks will be collected and graded.  Last day for any make ups will be this week.  Make-ups are Thursday during lunch and anytime during the week in the mornings before the 10 min bell!  Be responsible!

Cultural Art Project

Standard: 1& 4

Possible points: 45pts   Due Date:  Wednesday Oct. 23

Objectives: You are to create either a figurine, or a work of art using the Día de Los Muertos as a theme for your inspiration. You are then to write a short description in Spanish describing your work of art. Afterwards, you will be required to present your work of art.  Be prepared to answer questions in Spanish that related to your masterpiece J  

Materials:  paperclay, diluted glue & water, newspaper, markers, tissue paper, scraps of material.

Sequence: 

Step 1:  Draw a rough draft of your sculpture/work of art.

Step 2:  Describe  your sculpture and what inspired you to create your project.

Step 3:  Prepare your sculpture and turn in a draft of your text describing your

             sculpture.

Step 4: Present sculpture/work of art.  Description must be memorized.

Modelo:  Creo que mi ____________es__________.  Está hecho de ______.  Los  colores que usé son _______________.  Me gusta mi escultura/obra de arte porque me recuerda de________________.  Mi inspiración fue____________.

Rubric: 

A - Project is neat, well thought out, unique,creative, and colorful.  All requirements met, very few grammar and spelling errors.  Student spoke clearly and was able to answer the questions in the target language.

B - Project was well thought out, neat, and semi creative.   All requirements met, few  grammar and spelling errors.  Student spoke clearly and was able to answer the questions in the target language.

C - Project was not well planned, slightly messy, not creative or colorful.  All requirements met, some grammar and spelling errors.   Student spoke clearly but was unable to answer all of the questions in the target language.

D- Project does not meet requirements and looks unfinished.  Too many grammar and spelling errors.  Student spoke clearly but was unable to answer  questions in the target language.

F - no effort

• Memorize the poem pg 91 (20 pts)
• Study vocabulary pg 104

• Study pg 104- vocabulary test
  
• If absent on Thursday notebooks are due @ beginning of period or you will end up with a low grade on the 10 wk grading period
• Final Grades for 10 week will be posted on Monday, this is the last day you may speak to me regarding unresolved makeup work or last minute makeup presentations.  Be responsible!  

• Tuesday current grades were posted yet some of you did not come to Thursdays make ups or turn in a notebook!  I do not accept late work... Be responsible see me Tomorrow morning before the 10 min bell to see what you can do to bring up your grade. 

• Prepare for Presentation(25pts)..bring in your ipods or instruments and be prepared to share your favorite song with the class.  Just a reminder the song can be in English, but your presentation must be in Spanish and you must memorize your information.  If you use a cue card you will receive no credit for the presentation.   Memorize your 8 lines and be prepared!!!!!  
• Grade is based on overall presentation and written part.  (Written part includes rewriting your lines about the song info and your lyrics.)

• Lyrics due for song you are presenting on Friday.
• Study your vocabulary pg 104

• Copy vocabulary pg 104& 62-make sure you look up the English part.

• Look over questions pg. 44 and be prepared to present information about your partners flyer.

• Finish ending of the story from Class. (Textbook pg. 24 &25.) Make sure you at least write down 3-4 sentences in Spanish.
