The major emphasis of the course is to provide the student with greater opportunities to fine-tune the communication skills acquired during previous years. The course focuses on reading, writing, and speaking Spanish. Texts from throughout the Spanish culture are discussed.

SPANISH 3A ORAL FINAL EXAM STUDY GUIDE
These are examples of the type of questions you may be asked. The Oral Final Exam will take place 4 days prior to Written Finals. The exam must be taken during class time and not during lunch. No retakes will be given. Study!!
Para Empezar:

  1. ¿Qué haces después de las clases?
  2. ¿Cuál es tu actividad favorita?
  3. ¿Cómo celebras tu cumpleaños?
  4. ¿Adónde vas, usualmente, para las vacaciones de verano?
  5. En la escuela, ¿cuál es tu clase favorita? ¿Quién la enseña?
  6. ¿Cómo celebras tu cumpleaños?
  7. Describe con detalle un día típico del año escolar. Incluye todo lo que haces desde que te levantas hasta que te acuestas.

Capítulo 1:

  1. ¿Adónde te gusta ir de cámping? ¿Por qué? 
  2. ¿Qué actividades te gusta hacer cuando vas de cámping? 
  3. ¿Por qué puede ser peligroso estar de cámping cuando hay una tormenta?

  9. Usando verbos y expresiones que llevan el subjuntivo, discute por qué es importante para la salud tener una dieta saludable.
  10. Lea la siguiente carta y contéstala, dándole consejos. Usa los mandatos familiares afirmativos y negativos en tu respuesta.
  11. Querida Ana, Necesito sus consejos. Soy una persona que no es muy activa. Nunca hago ejercicio y no practico deportes. Como mucha comida basura y por eso no tengo un peso apropiado. Siempre estoy cansada y no tengo energía. Sufro de estrés. ¿Qué me recomienda? Preocupada

Agenda is written on whiteboard for both classes.
 
Spanish 1-period 8:  Examples are on the whiteboard...just  provide period 8 with computer paper so they can write the letter.  
 
Spanish 3- periods 2,4,6: Provide each group with paper located on top of the filing cabinet.  Remind them to use vocabulary and all forms of commands to create a poster telling others. What they should do to maintain their health and stay in shape.  Poster must include pictures or drawIngs.  
 
Color pencils are located in front of the class.   Write down group numbers if students are not cooperating. They are graded as a group and know they will be held accountable.  
 
Please collect all group work!

  • Warm-up:  Write 5 sentences using new vocabulary.
  • Page 116 Activ 3 & Translate flyer on 116
  • Page 117 Activ 4-  Write the item that doesn’t belong and replace one with correct vocab.
  • Page 118 Activ 6 & 7
  • Students should practice with partner page 108 Activ 2 ...They will be presenting on Wednesday.   [Make a list of items you like to eat and don’t like to eat.  Then explain to your partner why you like and don’t like each item and why you eat or don’t eat that food item.  Make sure you are able to carry a mini conversation with you partner using me gusta o no  me gusta and que te gusta comer etc.  Have at least 2 items you each talk about.]
  • Homework:  Prepare for presentation and be ready to turn in all work.

 

Spanish 1 Period 8

  • Warm-up:  Write 4 sentences about the classes you don’t have today and a sentence about the class you do have today.
  • Practice saying your schedule out loud and be prepared to test on Wednesday.

Cultural Art Project

Standard: 1& 4

Possible points: 45pts   Due Date:  Wednesday Oct. 23

Objectives: You are to create either a figurine, or a work of art using the Día de Los Muertos as a theme for your inspiration. You are then to write a short description in Spanish describing your work of art. Afterwards, you will be required to present your work of art.  Be prepared to answer questions in Spanish that related to your masterpiece J  

 

Materials:  paperclay, diluted glue & water, newspaper, markers, tissue paper, scraps of material.

 

Sequence: 

Step 1:  Draw a rough draft of your sculpture/work of art.

Step 2:  Describe  your sculpture and what inspired you to create your project.

Step 3:  Prepare your sculpture and turn in a draft of your text describing your

             sculpture.

Step 4: Present sculpture/work of art.  Description must be memorized.

 

Modelo:  Creo que mi ____________es__________.  Está hecho de ______.  Los  colores que usé son _______________.  Me gusta mi escultura/obra de arte porque me recuerda de________________.  Mi inspiración fue____________.

 

Rubric: 

A - Project is neat, well thought out, unique,creative, and colorful.  All requirements met, very few grammar and spelling errors.  Student spoke clearly and was able to answer the questions in the target language.

B - Project was well thought out, neat, and semi creative.   All requirements met, few  grammar and spelling errors.  Student spoke clearly and was able to answer the questions in the target language.

C - Project was not well planned, slightly messy, not creative or colorful.  All requirements met, some grammar and spelling errors.   Student spoke clearly but was unable to answer all of the questions in the target language.

D- Project does not meet requirements and looks unfinished.  Too many grammar and spelling errors.  Student spoke clearly but was unable to answer  questions in the target language.

F - no effort

    • Grade is based on overall presentation and written part.  (Written part includes rewriting your lines about the song info and your lyrics.)
