Gor Plavchyan returned to the starting lineup for the Grant boys' basketball team in the City Section Div. III quarterfinals Wednesday against visiting Chatsworth.
The 6-foot-7 senior was still effective even though he wasn't at 100 percent.
Plavchyan scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the top-seeded Lancers advanced to Friday's semifinals with a 72-56 victory over the defending division champion Chancellors.
Gurgen Harutyuntan led Grant (26-5), which extended its winning streak to 13, with 22 points, including five 3-pointers.
Travis Wilson added 13 points and Tullio Perry contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Lancers.
Terrell Funches scored a game-high 25 points, including 19 in the first half, to lead ninth-seeded Chatsworth (10-23).
Mark Olmos added 14 points, including four 3-pointers.
It marked the second year in a row Grant reached the Div.III semifinals. The Lancers suffered a 67-65 loss last season to Garfield, which lost to Chatsworth in the final.
Grant will face No. 4 Banning, a 58-53 winner over Roosevelt, at 6 p.m. Saturday at Venice High.
