LIFE SKILLS 21ST

Course Description

Life Skills for the 21st Century is a 20-week course designed to help 9th graders succeed in their current and future educational and occupational endeavors. The major emphasis of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills essential in academic environments and the workplace. The course will help students understand high school graduation requirements, career pathways, and options for higher education. This course will provide students with surveys to better assess their aptitudes, interests as they relate to school, and career and personal life goals. Through class activities, students will enhance their interpersonal relations, cultural insights/perspectives, and conflict resolution skills. By focusing on social needs and/or community problems, students will be encouraged to become problems solvers – to propose solutions and act responsibly to create better situations for themselves and their community.
