1.) "The Most Dangerous Game" Figurative Language Boxes--Identify the figure of speech as a simile, metaphor, or example of personification. Draw a picture of the thing that is being poetically described and color it.

2.) Grammar Skillbuilder Choosing Precise Verbs 1-10 (write a better verb for the underlined word in the sentence). Must be in present tense.

4.) Pre-writing or story-boarding or first draft of "The Most Dangerous Game" fight scene. This is the creative writing assignment we will be doing in class on Wednesday. Come prepared with an idea of how you want the fight scene to take place. Think of dialogue and action. One simile, one metaphor, one example of personification.

The one page creative writing assignment must include: one simile, one metaphor, one example of personification. The story must be written in third person point of view and it must be written in past tense.

The purpose of this assignment is to write a 'sequel' or continuation of Liam O'Flaherty's short story "The Sniper," which is on page 163 in the orange textbook.

Read, highlight, and annotate the two persuasive essays in your purple workbook. Study the persuasive terminology that we highlighted in class.

Finish "The Sniper" Grammar Skillbuilder: Adverb Placement worksheet (blue worksheet). Rewrite the corrected version of the sentence on a separate sheet of paper. There are examples in the directions.

Finish "The Sniper" Vocabulary Boxes for the words: remorse/remorseful; fanatic(s)/fanatical/fanaticism, and; ruse. All sentences must not contain any grammatical or punctuation mistakes. Underline the vocabulary word and color your pictures.
