This is an HONORS level class. Students will combine many of the trigonometric, geometric, and algebraic techniques needed to prepare them for the study of calculus. Students will work towards strengthening their conceptual understanding of problems and mathematical reasoning in solving problems. Mathematical analysis is often combined with a course in trigonometry. In trigonometry, the students will study functions that are defined geometrically rather than in terms of algebraic equations. Students will work with common trigonometric identities, and use them to simplify trigonometric expressions. In addition, students will be able to work with polar, parametric and rectangular coordinates as a means to graph more complex functions and non-functions. Students will be introduced to matrices, with conics and close with limits.
