Read Philip Heymann's essay "Torture SHould not be Authorized" and Alan Dershowitz' essay "Yes, it SHould be 'On the Books'" and use ONE of the articles to answer the AP authors questions. Both essays are available online and can be found through a Google search.

1. Find three interesting quotes that express a debatable point.
2. Write an AP-style prompt for each quote.
3. Rewrite each prompt in the form of a question that includes all parts of the prompt.
4. Write a thesis statement for each prompt that answers all parts of the question.
