This one semester course is designed as a preparation for the CAHSEE with instruction (review) in pre- algebraic and introductory algebra concepts and skills that are not yet understood well enough by the student to earn a passing score. It is intended for either 11th or 12th grade students who did not pass the CAHSEE or 10th grade students whose past performance in mathematics places them in jeopardy of not passing. The course will focus on meeting the California content standards in mathematics in some selected standards from Algebra 1 and strands from Grades 6 and 7 including Number Sense; Algebra and Function; Measurement and Geometry; Statistics, Data Analysis and Probability; and Mathematical Reasoning.
