Support Programs
School For Advanced Study provides a differentiated curriculum for the Gifted and High Achieving student wit an opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school through Advanced Placement Exams.

Special Education provides a program of study for the student who is achieving significantly below that of peer members. Contains programs in RSP, SDC and CBI.

Mainstreaming provides itinerant services for student who are in need of special services, such as Speech and Language, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and the Lest Restrictive Environment.

Career Counseling provides students with information regarding their future choices in the world of work. Explores vocational education at the local school site as well as provides information about the programs in ROP and ROC. Also works with branches or the Armed Services.

College Counseling provides students with information regarding college entry to both 2 and 4 year institutions.

School Psychologist provides in depth counseling for student who are referred. Works with placement in special education.

Work Experience provides students with the opportunity to earn high school credit through on-the-jog-training.

T.U.P.E.(Tobacco Use & Prevention Education), thought assemblies and other activates which identify the harm of smoking, encourages students to stop smoking as well as discourage them from starting. In addition, T.U.P.E. groups work with students to break the smoking habit. Students can either be assigned or volunteer for the groups.

Healthy Start Program: A family services center for Chatsworth High School. Located at Lawrence Middle School, parents may go for help with health service, counseling service or other needs.

Students Run L.A. This organization sponsors our students in runs from 5k to the L.A. Marathon from September thought June. SRLA provides the entry fees and transportation, as well as shoes, fanny packs, hats and clothes for the Marathon, including sweat suits for the finishers. Anyone interested in joining should see Mrs. Hoch or Mrs. Schnell to get ready for the marathon.
