Why the Child Development Pathway 

Through a carefully designed curriculum, guest speakers, job shadowing, student research, and additional high learning opportunities, students will be given the tools and taught the life skills necessary to make informative choices in regards to pursuing a career in the Education profession.


What is in store for Child Development Pathway

Students in the Child Development pathway will be focusing on the preschool teacher aspect, with managing the classroom and creating a curriculum. CCHS’s Child Development Pathway teachers are always revisiting the curriculum to assure that all lessons meet the Common Core Standards and Project Based Learning to help better prepare our Chancellors to succeed in job readiness and the District Proficiency exam.


The program includes but is not limited to these opportunities:
    • Guest speakers from all aspects of the Education profession;
    • A Child Development Advisory  Board consisting of community, parents, staff, teachers and students;
    • On-site college courses;
    • Job shadowing;
    • Field trips;
    • Club affiliation opportunities (Skills USA);
    • Parent Involvement;
    • Tutoring;
    • Mentoring;
    • Child Development Equipment hands-on training;
    • CPR and First Aid Certification;
    • Charity Drives;
    • Virtual Teaching 
    • Community Service
