Chatsworth High School continues its tradition of excellence among the top public high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. We will augment our Advanced Placement courses, School for Advanced Studies courses, Honor courses, and other outstanding academic programs with Smaller Learning Communities (SLC) for the 2008-2009 school year. The SLC’s consist of:

  • 9th Grade Academy (Two Houses)
  • Engineering and Design Academy
  • International Business and Government Careers Academy
  • Medical Careers Academy
  • Arts and Media Academy
  • Humanitas Academy of Education and Human Services.

These academies will not only offer our students a chance to explore opportunities in a variety of fields, but also give them a chance to interact with their teachers and peers on a more personal level around common themes and interests.

It is important that your child involve him/herself in the academic and extra-curricular activities that Chatsworth High School has to offer. Research shows that the more students become positively involved in their school, the higher their academic success rate. Please encourage your child to become a part of one of our championship athletic teams, outstanding clubs, or inspiring service organizations.

Parents, it is also important for you to become involved with your child’s school as well. Please plan to attend Back-To-School Night, PHABO Conferencing Night, and Open House throughout the school year. We offer several parent groups in which you can become affiliated. Some of our parent groups include: PTSA, English Language Advisory Council, Chatsworth Leadership Council, Compensatory Education Advisory Council, Booster Club, School Governance Council, and many more. Most of these groups meet in the evening for your convenience.

The Chancellor staff is here to assist you to ensure that your child has a successful and rewarding experience at Chatsworth High School. Together, we will make Chatsworth the number one high school in the District.
