Why take AP courses?

Explore Interests & Build Skills: AP classes let you dive deep into topics. This exploration can help you identify a college major or narrow down what you might want to study in the future.

Boost Your GPA: AP courses provide extra weight (e.g., an 'A' becomes a 5.0 rather than a 4.0). This significantly boosts your weighted GPA, a key factor in college admissions.

Earn College Credit / Save Money: Scoring a 3 or higher on an AP exam often allows you to skip introductory college courses, saving hundreds to thousands of dollars in tuition. Earning enough credits could even let you graduate early.

Stand Out to Colleges: Admissions officers evaluate the rigor of your high school schedule. Taking AP classes signals that you are willing to push yourself and are prepared for college-level coursework. even trying one is a good idea.
