Alternate Curriculum
Chatsworth High School's Alternate Curriculum Program!
The mission of Chatsworth Charter High School's Alternate Curriculum Programs are for students who have the ID, AUT, and MDO eligibility, we provide leadership, guidance, and supports for those students. We do this through our focus on Community-Based Instruction, School-Based Enterprises, and The Unique Learning System. We are committed to providing a safe and enriching learning environment as we help prepare students to reach their full potential and contribute to society.

Our teachers are...
Mr. Eric Peres
Mr. Peres is in his 14th year at Chatsworth Charter High School and 23rd with the Los Angeles Unified School District, he has also worked at Sylmar High School and Reseda High School. Mr. Peres is a graduate of California State University of Northridge, along with his Bachelor of Arts degree in History, he also holds his Education Specialist teaching credential and a Masters in Educational Administration. Mr. Peres has always served students with disabilities, he has worked in many capacities during his time in LAUSD; Resource Teacher, Special Day Class Teacher, Special Education Coordinator. However, it is his teaching role in the CBI Program at Chatsworth High School he enjoys and appreciates the most.
Mrs. Eileen Alcorn
Mrs. Alcorn is in her 14th year at Chatsworth Charter High School and her 21st year with the Los Angeles Unified School District, she has also worked at Germain Street Elementary School. Mrs. Alcorn is a graduate from University of Phoenix, along with her Masters Degree in Special Education, she also holds her Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe Education Specialist teaching credentials. Mrs. Alcorn has always served students with disabilities while working in the Los Angeles School District. On a personal note, Mrs. Alcorn is a graduate from Chatsworth High School.
Mrs. Patty Chavez
Mrs. Chavez is in her 8th year at Chatsworth Charter High school and 23rd year with Los Angeles Unified School District. Ms. Chavez has worked at Miller Career and Transition Center as well as at Ernest Lawrence Middle School. Ms. Chavez is a graduate of National University and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, along with a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and a Moderate/Severe Education Specialist teaching credential. Ms. Chavez started off her career in education as a Special Education Assistant and it is there that she found her passion for serving students with disabilities.
Mr. Rene Enciso
Mr. Enciso is in his 2nd year as a teacher at Chatsworth Charter High School and Los Angeles Unified School District. He is a graduate of California State Northridge holding a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He is currently enrolled through LAUSD’s ICAAP and working toward becoming fully credentialed to teach the Extensive Support Needs population. Mr. Enciso has over 10 years of experience working and supporting the youth in the San Fernando Valley through CSUN’s Elementary School Grant Program, LA Park’s Summer Camps, a Non-Profit “My School In Motion”, as an aid at Anatola Elementary, and as an agency Behavior Interventionist. When he is not working he spends time with his family and enjoys playing pool.
Ms. Stacey Nowak
Ms. Nowak started with the Los Angeles Unified School District in 2005 as a campus aide and began her teaching career in 2007 at Chatsworth High School. In 2014, she began working for the CSUN Dept. of Police Services and returned to Chatsworth Charter High School in January 2019. She graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science. She has a Master of Arts degree in Education and a Master of Science degree in Special Education. She holds an Education Specialist credential and single subject teaching credential in Health Education. She is a proud graduate of Chatsworth High School.

Congratulations to Chatsworth High School's CBI Program for becoming a National Finalist for the 2019 Varsity Brand School Spirit Award. The most spirited schools cultivate an atmosphere where all students feel welcomed and accepted. The Spirit of Inclusion Award honors one school that goes out of its way to welcome new students, accommodate students with diverse needs and educate students about issues related to diversity and inclusion
