Description
This course is an introduction to the Spanish language and culture and uses Common Core Standards. The student develops the skills of correct pronunciation through oral drill with a selected active vocabulary, accurate comprehension of the printed word, usage of the vocabulary, and grammar in elementary composition and conversation. The student will present short oral and written reports in correct form and write Spanish form dictation.

Written Final Exam

Must be on time and ready to present on Day of Written Final.  No exceptions will be made. 

Objectives: Students are to choose between presenting a customized menu or a family tree in the target language.

Standards:                Pts. 150 points

Standard: 1.1 Students address discrete elements of daily life, including:

Food, meals, restaurants,family and friends

Standard: 1.1 Engage in oral, written, conversations.

Standard: 1.3 Present to an audience of listeners
 

Requirements:   A detailed poster in Spanish with visual pics/drawings and a presentation.

Due:   May 29 for periods 2 & 6

Proyectos finales

  1.      A Spanish royal family gives you $80,000 dollars to create your own restaurant. You arrive to Chatsworth High and give a presentation in Spanish promoting your restaurant.

 


Requirements for Poster

Menu with different food items, including description of food items, maybe intro of family restaurant, history of royal family members.
Description of Royal family members
Use tener, ser, estar, gustar, and vocabulary from 3A,3B,5A&5B.
Illustrations such as pictures or drawings
Must be typed in Spanish
At least 420 x 594mm (poster size) (see Sr. Solórzano for poster paper if you can’t afford one)

 

Requirements for Presentation:

Must be 100% in the target language.
Describe the menu you created and the food you will be offering
Demonstrate in your presentation how elegant your customer service is. For example show the class how attentive your waiters are and how good mannered your clients are expected to be.
Describe to the class the Royal family in detail.

 

  1.       Create a family tree with real pictures of your family and present it to the class in Spanish.

Illustration of your family tree with real pictures of yourself and your family.
Description of each family members and personality which includes, age, likes/dislikes,short description using ser ,
A picture of a family celebration and a description of the family celebration.
Use tener, ser, gustar, possessive adjectives, and vocabulary from 3B, 5A&5B.

¡Tú eres el artista!

Senor Solórzano will be hosting a Spanish Speaking Show called “El Artista del Momento”. The show is highly popular in all of Latin America and Spain. Every single one of you is an artist in the making. You will arrive on the set as yourself. You will be interviewed in Spanish in front of the whole Latin American Continent and Spain. You will be expected to speak only in Spanish. NO READING. Know your responses by heart. Practice your responses with your parents, friends, pets, etc. We need you to develop your best Spanish for the show!!!

Please note that being asked to introduce yourself or responding to “how are you?” are questions that should come naturally to you. Therefore you are expected to know them.  

You will only be asked 5 questions but you need to Know the responses of all of these questions by heart
